I feel like Fuzzer was years in the making even if I didn’t really start thinking about it until late 2025. All my years playing in bands, working in the film industry, and just loving niche artists informed this passionate feeling that more of these wonderful people deserve to be written about and celebrated.
There are so many great artists/art pieces out there, and Fuzzer is a great excuse to share them with fellow art fans, while also exploring my other interest — which I did not see coming — which was a passion for creating magazines.
I always enjoyed the few magazines I had as a kid. I remember passionately reading Goalies World (I was hockey obsessed) as a kid, and I remember having this Nickelodeon Magazine about the Crimson Chin (Fairly Odd Parents) that was basically a comic book but was super cool and something I enjoyed flipping through over the years. Despite this, I never thought much about writing for a magazine, let alone making one.
But as I grew up in this internet age, I found myself less attracted to the “screen heavy” world and found a real interest in returning to physical media. Just the idea of writing and designing something that wasn’t tethered to Search Engine Optimization, view counts, and likes, but rather existed in total defiance of these things seemed so much fun and so punk rock.
Which isn’t to say I don’t like the internet — I mean this is a website I have put up, clearly I don’t mind it — but still I like the opportunity to write and design a magazine that is in it for the proverbial love of the game.
So this is Fuzzer. A wonderful mish mash of the arts and culteral commentary.
Oh, and before I go, I want to make it clear that Fuzzer could not exist without the help of Elizabeth Harrison: poet, writer for Fuzzer, and longtime friend. Definitely check out her work.
